Glenford’s career trajectory has taken him across a myriad of industries in varying degrees of exposure. To date, he has been involved in: management consultancy, equity markets, investment finance, risk management, commodities trading, shipping and a technology start-up. Within the majority of these exposures, he has had the opportunity to understand and appreciate a range of other sectors. These range from rig builders and transport companies in Singapore to a rabbit processing company in China and a fuel distributor in Nigeria. These experiences have left him with a keen sense of the difficulties and success factors common behind any industry.

His career started out as a consultant with Accenture in 2001 (then Andersen Consulting). His responsibility was articulating business processes and managing change for government linked clients. After Accenture, Glenford took the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, concentrating in International Finance and Business.

Upon his return from New York, Glenford’s career path became not so much a path but rather a map. In between equity research stints (CIMB-GK Securities, BNP Paribas), there was a period where he stepped into the Private Banking sector with Bank Julius Baer and saw finance through the lens of debt markets for high net worth individuals and families.

The exposure to the finance industry stretched from 2004 to 2009. Glenford then pivoted into the general insurance markets in 2010 joining A respected and noteworthy risk management firm as a partner. Glenford’s mandate is to develop the business. His role includes advising on and mitigating corporate/industrial risks for clients with insurance solutions. This remains an active pursuit and the firm has expanded comfortably as a niche business since with a diversified risk portfolio.
